House of Lines

Rigid geometry, softened from the inside

Inspired by the strong linear character of the house’s exterior, House of Lines explores how rigid geometry can be softened, warped and reinterpreted through a quieter interior language of plaster, joinery, textiles and form.

Scope
Concept to final styling
A living room with a walnut media wall, a wide bay window behind sheer curtains, a curved blue wall to one side, a cream sofa, an olive chaise and a woven rug.
The front room, off the bay
A kitchen in daylight: pale handleless cabinetry with a curved end, a stone worktop, a yellow glass shelf above textured tile, and a blue and cream patterned tile floor running to an open garden door.
Kitchen, opening to the garden

A house usually knows what it is before anyone redraws it. The work is deciding what to soften.

To come
A run of pale kitchen cabinets under a long yellow glass shelf, lit from within, above textured square tile, with afternoon shadows falling across the wall.
Yellow glass, above a grey tile run
A landing with a deep blue balustrade against pale plaster, the stair line cut into the wall, seen through an open doorway into the bedroom beyond.
The landing, and the line of the stair
A bedroom under a sloping gable ceiling, lit by a skylight. An olive velvet headboard sits in a curved plaster recess, with a blue-grey alcove and walnut bedside shelf beyond. A woman walks through the room.
A bedroom under the gable
A walled garden terrace in low evening light: grey-framed outdoor seating around a pale stone table, a yellow glass cube stool, deep planting against brick, and two people talking.
The terrace, late in the day

If you have a house with real bones and you want to know what it could become to live in, that is the conversation we like having.
